Swapping SOS trans- tips?

I am going to swap out my leaking/not working SOS with another one that is in very good shape. I have both service manuals, but I also have an industrial with FEL and backhoe. I can remove the backhoe pretty easily but I am hoping to leave the loader on.

I can see plenty of bolts and the steering that need to be removed, but is there anything that will really cause me head aches besides the frame? I hope I can slide it back on the frame rails enough to remove the old trans and drop in the new one.

Is there anything I should do to the trans going in as far as preventative maintenance? What about gaskets that need to be replaced? I am thinking that I should replace the seals on the front and rear shafts, but they also look good and I'm afraid of making them leak
