Swd6

Will a head off of a td6 work on a swd6?
Visually they look the same.
Does anyone have a good source for a head gasket for the swd6?

The one head that tests fine but you can see a crack I am still looking for a repair shop to fix it.absolutely no luck. I had bought a few parts over the years and had this td6 head and it looks good. Seems to be my best and quickest option.
I will eventually find a place to fix the original head.

sounds good , should be the same head. is that crack in the combustion chambers or else where ? cause if not in combustion area it would be ok. or post pic of it. most crack in between the valves.

you need to call ARNOLDS MOTORS here in IOWA they have the latest stuff for that type of repair im sure they have a web site

What casting number is on heads? Don't know what price of head gaskets is up to now. EB has NOS 53436DE for 150 and 15 shipping. Dealer was selling new number 119116A1. Think it's the same gasket reliance sells when in stock. If head is original on SWD6 and TD6 is late enough and has original head they may have same head number. Don't find many of the diesels with original head.

If that is the old Midwest Cylinder head
operation as I think it is they haven't
welded castings for quite some time unless
they just recently started back up. They
actually sold the welding buisiness back
to the original owner Rex and he retired
last year and closed everything down. I
had the very last head welded at that
shop.
