Swinging drawbar setup for bushhog

This is a Ford 4610 with a 10ft pull type mower. Should I allow the bar to swing behind the tractor (and how much), or set the bolts on either side of the pin right next to the bar? TIA

I've found that letting heavy implements swing is vastly superior to having them move the tractor a few feet. No kidding. A heavy implement on a 100hp tractor can move it around if you snug it up tight. The only thing I ever ran tight was a plow, and it made a real difference.............tractor would snap into line when you dropped the plow in the ground.

Think of a swaying drawbar as a cushion, or safety fuse.

IMHO
