Yesterday, when I was pulling a homemade railroad rail. I use it to clearout manure in the pastures, about 18ft long. Unbeknownst to me I hit a fence post and nearly rolled over backwards. I thot for sure it wood die. The only thing that saved me was the flip off and on switch. I thot about changing this to a keyswitch. I can see now, not a good idea. easier to flip a switch than fumble w/a key. Anyway very much enjoy this forum. Gl to all owners of theses gutsy little tractors. Jerry

"Nailing" the clutch should be INSTINCTIVE and INSTANT and is a LOT quicker than fumbling for an ignition switch and waiting for the engine to coast to a stop, all the while elevating the front wheels still more!

WHY would you reach for the ignition switch under that circumstance????

Well to answer ur ? I was thrown back against the rear of the seat n hanging on the steering wheel. the switch was closer to throw than pushing the clutch in. killing the motor did it.

Another question, how and where was this rail attached to the tractor? If attached to the top link rocker I can easily see this happening.

If chained to a draw bar with the lift in the lowered position and stays or using an under transmission draw bar... it probally would not have reared at all.

Glad to hear you are okay from you than from someone else that you are not okay...

When towing keep the drawbar set low below the level of the Rear axle and then the tractor cannot rear. Set the drawbar stays so that the lower link arms on the 3 point are level, don't tow without drawbar stays attached...John
