New to me z730m zero turn mower with 38 hrs. on it. Would it be a good idea to go with synthetic oil? If so what weight? Thanks Ron

Go with whatever grade the manual calls for.
I have an 1986 Ford (Gilson built) garden tractor with the 18HP Kohler twin of that era.
When I changed from non synthetic 10W30 oil to Mobil 1 (10W30) many years ago the oil pressure on a hot day increased about 4 - 5 PSI.
I continue using it to this day.
That's just my experience.

I used dyno oil for years in my mowers. When synthetic came out I decided to try it. Rather than having to change dirty oil twice a year, I went for 2 years and still had pretty clean oil....clean enough to think about changing or not....10W-30.....and yes obviously synthetic oils have detergents just like dyno oils.....its just that they tolerate the temperatures that break down dyno oils......what else would be the reason?????
