Just checked ebay. You didn't mention tpi, but a 1/2-13 LH tap is $17.88. A die is $21something.

If it is just a one off job you are doing it might be easier to just cut a piece off a turnbuckle and weld it on to what your fixing/building.

Depending if you need fine or coarse thread there are left hand fine thread wheel studs and nuts available.

Many shoe adjusters from drum brake vehicles had left hand fine thread on one side as well.
