The prices today seem so low that you want to buy the whole line.

Then again the Ferguson Co. Sold in 1953 for
$16 Million

Massey Ferguson Sold in 1994 for

$330 Million. Or about 20X

so £400 in 1953 would be about £8000 in 1994. or about £14,000 today.... ~ $22,500 US Can or Aus

hummmm not as inexpensive as first appears.

There is still an excellent market for TEA 20s.
This video features a Motueka orchardist who has 24 in operation, working apples and kiwifruit and he is still buying them for no more than NZ$1500 each.

So how is this deal for inflation busting, 24 tractors at $1500 = $36,000, which is less than the cost of a brand new purpose built orchard tractor.

I agree, good used equipment is usually a good deal.

TO-20"s and TE-20"s can also be had here in the US for ~$1500.00 though I see alot of asking prices pushing $2500 to $3000. Not sure they are getting it though.

we are not allowed to watch your videos in the u.s.!

We can't watch it in Australia either!! (Due to international copyright!)

".....or about £14,000 today...."

That would be approx Aus$21,000 (Aust $1 = US1.07). You won't buy a new 30 HP tractor today with the capability of a TEA20, for that money.

Later:
I think this may be a better comparison?

The 1948 GM Holden 48-215 sedan cost Aus£733 (Aus$1,466). By 1955 the GM Holden FJ sedan had risen to Aus£1,023 (Aus$2,046).

The late 1948 - 1954 Holden sedan was very similar to the late 1940s Chevrolet sedan but smaller.

So, a new Ferguson tractor was around half the price of a mid size family sedan.

Today, the base model Holden Commodore sedan costs around Aus$31,000. You can't buy a new tractor for Aus$15,500 - even a good quality zero turn ride on mower costs that.

Too bad I can't see that movie clip.

Some years ago I read something about someone wanted to start producing the TEA 20 again, with a Lister diesel. But, guess that idea went down the drain....
