TEA @) thermostat

I bought my TEA 20 six years ago not exactly what I was buying other than a small to mid size tractor. I stumble upon this forum and have been reading for several years of and on. My Fergie finally needed an overhaul and I have found that parts for the TEA's are sometimes hard to locate. I even had to send to England to get brake shoe liners several years ago and now I can no longer find that site back. Anyway in overhauling the engine I have found that it did not have a thermostat in place and I would like to know if anyone can tell me what or where to get a thermostat. It is the Standard 85 engine. Thanks

Sparex will only sell via their world wide dealer network.

BareCo (an Australian company) sell direct and through dealers in Australia. I assume they do the same in the USA?

Bob didn't one of the English sports cars use the standard engine that's similar to the TEA's engine? Would that possibly be an alternate source of some system parts?

Yes, the Standard Vanguard motor car, Standard Triumph TR2, TR3, TR4 and Morgan sports cars had a [u:784dbf3aa6]similar[/u:784dbf3aa6] Standard engine to that installed in the TEA20 tractor.

The Triumph TR4A engine is 2,138 cc, 4 cylinder, 86 mm bore, 92 mm stroke, 9:1 compression ratio, 104 bhp.

The Ferguson engine is 2,088 cc, 4 cylinder, 85 mm bore, 92 mm stroke, 6:1 compression ratio, 28.2 bhp.

Some parts appear the same - I installed Ferguson cylinder liners in my then Triumph TR3A (originally 1,991 cc capacity) forty years ago - however they are not identical engines.

Ferguson parts are far easier to obtain than Vanguard or Triumph parts - at least here in Australia.
