Looks really good! What kind of paint did you use on it? Take a look @ 5000 Cav pump & elec. and let me know what you think. I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

Looks good. When I paint rims, I remove them from the tractor, put them on the ground, and use a rag and old motor oil to coat the rubber. After you spray the rim, wipe off the oil and paint from the tire.

I always have to hang the tin for a minute or two on whatever I'm working as soon as it is dry just to get a quick preview and a little gratification.

those fronts are junk, and the rears are gonna be a winter project. someone welded the power adjust rims up solid on both sides. that's why I'm not worrying about overspray on them. plus the prev owner painted them generously with a rattle can :(

I have a spare set of rubber and rims leaning against the fence that will be going on that tractor while I rehab it's oem rims during the winter.

believe me.. there's enough oil on the rear tires that it will be no problem cleaning them up when it comes time to put them back on the pa rims. and as said.. the fronts are junk.. may be ok for a dire emergency spare.. but that's it..

yep.. tins been hanging in the barn near a week now curing, and the chassie's been curing too.

I had dry fit it all after buffinf the metal down to bare/clean, then fit it again after priming to look for scratch points to watch out for during assembly.

since the tins came from about 4 different donor tractors I had to hand fit them a bit.. but it all went together fine.

pretty much put the dog legs on, then the cowl and dash.. left the cowl loose. put the hood sides on and loose fit them tot he cowl, then.. fit the grill in, as it set the spacings for the nose piece.. got that in, then the hood middle.. then tightened it all up.. originally I was putting the nose on befor ethe grill and since it was donor tin and different doglegs.. spacing wasn't quite right... but it is now..

Gol Dang Soundguy!

You got a tractor on your hands now!

Keep the Ol' Cayuse away from that shiney red thing because it may think the 950 is something good to chew on.

Looking Good!

she's still got a long way to go.

have only primed 1 of the front rims.. the other front and 2 rears are still leaning against the fenceline.. need to get those 3 primed, then all 4 painted, then swap them over tot he tractor.

still got to get a battery in her.. then once the rims and tires are on I will get the fenders on.. then next the seat.. then I got a set of original tract-o-lamps I need to restore for her. then I need to actually reapir the oem rims.. probably a winter project.

so.. plenty more work...

( technically if I put a battery in her I think she'd start and drive right now though )

Might be a rougher ride than the horse at gallop w/ no saddle, I'm just thinkin! Might want to do the seat before the battery, otherwise temptation!

no seat till fenders are on.. and no fenders till I get the rims and tires off and swapped with the spare set i'm putting on.

Wow Soundguy, looking good! i especially like the halloween effect on rear hub. I still want to know what coffee you drink. hoping for a warm couple days up in NY so I can at least do the tin on my 860. Enjoy. Dan --nyc

I went ahead and painted the 'visible portion of the hubs so the paint will match the chassie exactly.

when i pull the rims off I'll be painting the rest of the front and rear hubs.. but I'll be into a new can of paint.. and I want all the visible stuff to look about the same. I've seen some pretty drastic differences between cans.. I intermix cans if I know I'll need more.. so that the color is the same.. but thought I'd have enough for touch ups and hubs.. but with about 1pt left.. I don't think it's gonna cut it.

coffee.. uh.. dunkin donuts coffee..not sure of variety or flavor... my MIL buys me a bag of grounds a few times a year...not bad stuff.
