tedder

Someone gave me a kuhn tedder. Type is GF and serial # is 660369. Not sure how to identify the model-- it's old. Anyone know where I can get parts for this? I need four teeth and two arms.... TIA

That is an old one from the 1960's. My father and I bought one new when they first came out around here . It has been a good machine. I am still using it. Most parts from the next GF model which had a number after it will fit. Biggest difference is the Gf we have has round spokes and the next Gf has flat spokes. Teeth and teeth clamps are the same. 12mm bolts NOT 1/2. I use the nylon lock nuts as I had trouble with regular nuts loosening up. Hope this helps you. Good luck.

Can you post a picture of it? That serial number comes up as a newer style GF5001T digi-drive 4 spinner tedder, on the Kuhn site.

I wasn't doubting you, Phil. Sorry if it sounded that way. Just saying what the Kuhn site showed for his serial number. I didn't believe it was a GF5001T. Your serial number won't even come up as a tedder on the Kuhn site. It looks like they abandoned those old ones, at least on line. Is the dealer you used to get parts for hours still around?

It wasn't that, it was just bugging me because I had the same problem for years until I got it somewhat figured out. The dealer We bought it from is long gone. The Kubota dealer in Bangor used to sell Kuhn. Don't know if they still do. I keep as far away from dealers as I can. Get almost all my parts online much more reasonable.I have only seen a couple of this machine over the years. Think it was short lived before they came out with the next model. We bought it in the mid 60's, $600, some difference in the prices now.

The only dealers shown in Maine on the Kuhn dealer locator are 3 of the UATNE stores (the 3 former Hammond Tractor stores, Fairfield, Union, and Auburn).

Looks to me like a Kuhn GF4, those wheels are $$$.

GF4 has flat spokes, GF has round ones. I've had both.
