Hit it with a hammer? Was going to get on here and do what I do every morning...visit and found a big surprise. An IMAC desktop of mine had completely changed. Checking out the system seems the Ventura issue 13.7.6 is now installed and it is very different than what I had been using. Anybody have that system and would share your feelings about it.....how to get rid of it!!!!
So I backed up to Monterrey and it was the same (screen viewing) on start up disc sites. I have another IMAC with High Sierra. about a 2017 version and you can actually make out details in real pictures. Problem is, that a lot of sites have upgraded and some of their functions are beyond the reach of the antiquated software. So I can't purchase items that I think I want because of that....PIA for me as that means a 50 mile trip to town for a 5 cent screw or such. You guys are right on track. I have thought about using them for target practice.
I was doing OK with my old machines and I am using one right now but it got to where you couldn't purchase some things online because the vendors upgraded their end and your end didn't fit any longer. So I bought a newer reconditioned unit and it worked ok till this surprise. Now you’re going to have to choke up and bunt and follow-up with a punt. Download Google Chrome (you may need someone to help you with this) that is a web browser, it does the same thing Safari does if you use that. Then try that to access the webpages that you claim are not cooperating. Trust me there are going be some differences but should be able to overcome them with some patience and perseverance. Those two last things are going to be key to make this work for you.
One last thing, I don’t know how these machines you are using are equipped but it may that they don’t have the screen resolution/pixels to display a higher resolution files that many newer camera and particularly cell phones provide. There is a possibility that changing a setting could clear that up.
Bottom line is it sounds to me like you’re going to have to decide what your time is worth making the 50 mile trip to town to get a “5 cent nail” I’ll call it. And then decide if you are going to trade some of those $$ for an upgraded computer.
I don't use Chrome but the prompts to use it keep popping up on the screen. Have heard too many bad stories about some of its surprises and just some more fancy software to have to learn. My flip phone is all the phone I need too. The fancy phones are great for folks needing them but I'm not part of that crowd. Now you’re going to have to choke up and bunt and follow-up with a punt. I was searching for some answers this AM and stumbled across a site named Reddit. On there they talked about the coloring and strong contrast.....to the point where you couldn't make out the contents of the image being a "slip-up" and not intentional plus some other bugs. My guess is that one of the employees thought that would be funny or cool or something of the sort to screw up the images.
The good news is that the software in my computer hasn't been hacked. The bad news is that I, like all other Ventura viewers, have to put up with it...plus some other things like edge info is so small you need a magnifying glass to read it plus some others. For the record they included the fact that MS is having similar problems......see a trend here???
