after receiving the mower deck height limiter chains from this site and installing them, i can't believe how effective they are at making my mowing job easier. i used to work the height position all the time, but now i use it more like a draft control - up and down. if you brush hog very much in terrain that may scalp or worse, i highly recommend them.

Exactly. I got them a couple of years ago, and really like them. They are particularly helpful if you have hydraulic problems.

The other thing you MUST get are stabilizer bars. Without these, when you turn, the bushhog will travel left or right, maybe even drift into the rear tires.
With them, all remains straight in back, plus you can back up with no problems.
Limiter chains + stabilizer bars = just about the best purchases I got for my '50 'N
