Awhile back I posted a question about a timing issue when swapping the injector pump on my 530. Sorry about the delay in follow up as I am one man army most days. In the process of switching back to the original pump (had it rebuilt) the shaft and slot were 180 out. Dieseltech suggested setting the timing lines on the pump and attempt to insert .080 drill bit in number one port. Took pump to my friend's machine shop and did that. It worked, so the pump was assembled correctly. The tractor never moved. I have no idea how the shaft moved. I went to manual and set the timing by lining up the flywheel at 8 degrees before TDC. Installed pump, careful not to roll the seal. Fired her up and held thumb over return port. She died. Should be good to go. Thanks for your help. I'm new to the Forum. Just spent a half hour reading posts before writing this. I like all things Case. My wife and I are taking my mother-in-law to KY to visit family in September. We'll be about 2 hours from Lanesville IN. We plan to stop in at the summer convention.
