Worked on my C alternator today & thanks to both your recommendations & your guidance, Old - I did like you said you did on your alternator & was able to get it mounted with a belt on. Looks like it'll work, but don't have it running yet. Not much room left between the steering arm & alternator, but enough so that it should work.

Ya if you use the water pump pulley and sort of do a slip it on sort of thing and the right belt you can make the common Delco 10si work and then use the pump pulley to tight it up. I have even looked at doing an upside down down mount but have not worked it all out yet
