The buffalo is gone

My brother bought this from Camp Pentlation Marine base in the early 80's. Viet Nam era water tank, Called a water buffalo by the troops. He used the tank as a water supply for a man who lived on the property where he kept his cattle. He lived a house trailer, and helped my brother with the cattle. It has sat for years now in my yard, not doing anybody any good. I see on the internet they bring a lot of money. I was lucky to get 400.00 for it. Stan

Those are about a 100 gallon with an aluminum tank aren't they? If so would make good water transfer for spraying.

I am sure it is a lot more than 100 gallon and not aluminum.

The tank is fiberglass, the tag on the tank says 400 gal. Stan

I may have pulled that "Water Buffalo" around Camp Pendleton. Like Stan said they were 400 gallons and fiberglass tank. Spent 1978 and 79 training on Pendleton as a Heavy Truck Driver, before getting sent to Okinawa. Anyone that has spent time in those 5 ton trucks can understand why I have Ringing in my ears and hearing loss.

Vietnam 1966/67. - Base camp - Monsoon season - raining cats/dogs - squad tent for night - guy has to take dump - four holer couple hundred feet away - comes back. - wet/bloody - ??? - Fu**ing Water Buffalo!!!! - water buffalo had been moved. - he ran into it full steam ahead. - funny now - not then. USMC. Semper Fi. !!!!

Had one here that was 600 gallons and aluminum.

What is the old grader sitting beside it ?

I don't know the brand, but Dad used it to male terraces in his fields to control the rain water. He pulled it with his crawler, with me behind it, turning the hand wheels up or down to raise or lower the blade. That sure gave me a good work out. Stan

I am so glad to hear someone else call it that. I have called them that all my life cause Daddy was in the military during Nam. I tell it to someone else and start talking about my water buffalo and people look at me like I am weird.

This one guy use to talk about having a water Buffalo at home - but I never met his wife.
