I have an old 9n.. For some reason lately the battery is being
drained while it sits. I cannot seem to locate the source
drawing the power. For now I have put a quick disconnect on
the positive cable. All the wiring looks good and yes the
headlights are off. And it starts and runs great and while it
runs thE amp meter shows it charging 6 amps.. I am lost,
Any ides???

Quazar.......ittz'chur 2-terminal roundcan cut-off underneath yer sheetmetal battery tray above yer 2-terminal starter switch. (note: heavy cables for starter switch) Yer 2-terminal cut-out is supposed to disconnect yer genny when yer engine stops turning, it ain't doing it. Therefore it drains yer battery overnite.

Replace yer cut-out and re-polarize it. Just arc-spark the 2-terminals together, engine OFF. I use apair of pliers handles, you can use barb'd warr iff'n you want. You can re-polarize as many times as it takes to feel warm and fuzzy ...er... charged. .......Dell

uh Bill......you do realize yer 12v alternator with built-in regulator is completely different from the 1-terminal 6v genny with 2-terminal roundcan cut-out, don't you??? Yes, a bad battery can discharge overnite. ......respectfully, Dell
