Had some more time to knock down some weeds on my pasture. Kicked about 3 ac down with the 10' mower on my 5000.. I swear the tractor was 'looking for more' by the end of it...

60 drawbar, 67 pto, and 70 net flywheel hp for the diesel / 8spd.

That sounds like a nice size tractor to have. Is it category I or II? Is she a heavy drinker?

I have the newer 5600 and have the same experience, she just begs to work. And, mine is great on fuel, mowing & baling hay I use about 1.25 gallons/hour. What a great piece of equipment.

Cat 2. Will pick up a heavy duty 10' 3pt mower with ease..

Not too bad... though without a turbo, she drinks as much as my 7610s does ( with a turbo).

I can cut 10a of grassy weeds with a 10' mower on about 5 gallons of diesel with her. Not a heavy drinker.. but she deffinately don't 'sip' either..

I'm using about 1.66 gph pretty consistantly when mowing. Yours sounds more economical.. did the 5600 have a turbo?

Sorry for the delay, no turbo. Natural asp. Probably not using as much hp with a haybine as a rotary mower.

I've never used a haybine.. so ?? could be. I do know the 10' mower is a decent load on the 5000.. though it handles it fine..
