The purchase...........

I was able to purchase a John Deere #15 subsoiler. It really looked rough but the wheels weren't rusted badly and the axles had very little wobble/play. I first lifted it from the crane in my barn and disassembled the clutch. Really nasty inside the cast iron hub and also full of water. The roller and springs showed virtually no use or wear. Much cleaning solved that problem and it is now back together and working. I have one wheel wire wheeled and primed and painted, one left to go. It is a lot of intense work to get the wheels restored. I am contemplating how to make cleats for the lift wheel without welding to the wheel. For anyone trying to rebuild a lift clutch, You Tube Tylertheplowguy has a very informative video. The clutch on my subsoiler is the same as the old plows. Thanks for reading, pictures after completion, Ellis
