Had barn broke into trusday night in northcentral IN took hand tools and power tools the normal stuff but what made mad is that took grills off super A super C and M plus radiator cap off 1929 18-36 harrt parr

I say...There's many cameras around here. I won't say exactly how many or where, but if there is a thief around here, I want to have his picture to post everywhere, I mean every where.

So you have a picture of the guy - what good does that do you? I had a copy of the guy's drivers license, a picture of the tag on his pickup and his home address and it did me no good. The cops had other things to do.

But sometimes word of mouth can hurt the thief more than a court of law especially in smaller towns

If I had pictures, well I'd be tempted to post them at the police station, local coffee shop, mayor's office, grocery store, bank, movie theatre, etc., and a brief explanation of what didn't happen.

Watch yourself. The thief can sue you for defamation of character and false accusation.

You have to catch them in possession of the stolen goods AND have the camera footage of them stealing it for anything to happen, but even if you do manage to get them arrested they'll probably plead it out to a misdemeanor. At best they might do a couple weeks of jail time. The only lesson they'll learn is to come back and take more of your stuff for getting them in hot water with the law.

I was working on a construction job and there was houses and businesses across the street and cars parked on the streets. Could see something once in a while near one of the cars. I stopped an looked and there was a guy trying to steal the grill out a car in broad day light. Caught the guy and had him arrested.
We had power tools stolen from a job site so we went to the yard sales around the area and found some of the tools. left the sale and called the cops and met them back at the sale to ID the tools and had them arrested.
