my 1500 does not have thermostart-wondering how this works?

Your might want to read this article. You don't have a water pump either unless you added one. Without a water pump I believe a thermostat would restrict water flow to the point the thermosiphon system couldn't work. http://www.hoyetractor.com/overheating.htm

If I am reading the post correctly, I believe that he is asking about the thermostart.

The ThermoStart unit is a small heater, located inside the intake manifold, that makes cold starting easier. Hoye Tractor sells a complete unit if your tractor does not have it. It will be easy to add to your 1500.
