Thinking about rescuing a 9n

... I have a 9n and an 8n....
.... someone a few miles from me has a 9n with a loader for sale.... for 900... it has a welded block... states it was welded 9 yrs ago... although I am not opposed to this, since my father hogged with a 9n with a welded head for 25 yrs....
has great rear tires.... 12 volt system, but states "needs some work"....
.... thinking of offfering 500 to take it home... and seeing what issues are...
... worst case scenario, it isn't worth the time... so I take all parts off of it, lift arms, coil, carb, manifolds, dist, pump, tires, and all other pto parts, and get about 150 in scrap...
... good offer?

.... yes, it currently "runs"... and is in "working order"... whatever that means... I guess that is a matter of "opinion"..... lol

With great rear tires in my area that 900 would be a deal, if you can get it for 500 you should take a gun and wear a mask so the seller feels right about it :shock: :twisted: :lol: ! Heck the tires alone if really that great are worth the 500!

... that was my thought process..... as well as any other parts I can take off of it, that are common issues at times with a 9n....

... also, having been around these things for years, I will negotiate on the welded block.... I will check everything... I mean... EVERYTHING.... Money talks..... Ben Franklin has a way of persuasion.... Also, some knowledge of these machines and what it takes to 'fix" them comes in handy.... helps with negotiation as I found when I got my 8n for a grand last month...
... My neighbor has 127 acres.. he paid an enormous amount of money for me to hog his property this year... If there aren't many issues that I can't fix with it, I bet I can sell it to him for about 1500.... and maybe turn a profit... who knows... have to go look at it....
