My uncle needed a hand getting the wheels off of his Ford 3000 & wondered if I had anything that could lift them. I said yes, my HydroBoost is good for 6800 lbs..... would you like for me to just lift the tractor? He chuckled & said let's hope we don't have to. We go the right tire off & then he wanted to take the brake drum off. It stood out in my mind that they could be a bear to get off. He beat around on it a bit, to no avail. Said I would run back to the house to search out an answer on the 'net & hit the road. Found out a few ideas & headed back down to fill him in. He had thought to loosen the slack adjuster while I was gone. Filled him in on the best & worse case scenarios.... & went back to pounding on the drum. I noticed there were two retainer clips on the studs, so we pried them off. Took another whack at it, this time with a piece of rod & going in between the studs. The darned thing actually came loose. I told him, after seeing what I did on the 'net, he's one lucky dog!! That flange that holds the studs had very little surface rust & lots of shiny metal. I asked about the tractor & he said he got it from a second hand equipment dealer up by Shawno. The guy told him it saw little use since new & was always stored dry in a garage. So, most everything you see is all original. My uncle was getting a bit worn out (he's 87) & figured we'll get the other wheel off & call it good for the day.
The 3000 has to be one of the best examples I've seen in a long time!!

I just got the nuts loose & jumped back on the tractor when I took the photo.
