This is what fire ant bites look like. They attack in droves and bite multiple times. I have never found just one fire ant on me. By the time you know they are on you and try to get them off they are all over your body.

Does this mean it is not uncommon to see someone stripping naked in the wide open? Fire ants (1) Young lady (0) and unclothed.

They get on you bad enough you are going to get naked.
In a hay field or in the mall.
Does not matter.
They do not call them fire ants because they liked the name.
They will eat you alive.

I realize there is nothing real funny about it. As I said above I don’t even like chiggers or mosquitoes for that matter.

Out getting rid of some dove weed the other day and was stung by a fire ant. He stung me once and I rubbed the spot on my Levis briskly trying to kill it. I must have just pi$$ed him off, a couple seconds later he stung me again. I finally pulled down my pants and luckily I had on a pair of thin work gloves on and plucked him off me. What you see in the photo is the spot on the fourth morning, That was this morning and I finally went to a doctor. He gave me a ten day supply of an antibiotic. To answer the question you're thinking, I waited so long because I was hoping the thing would start getting smaller but, it still just kept growing.

This is may first dealing with a fire ant and hopefully my last. I usually put some velco straps on the cuffs of my pants when working outside. I will never forget to use them again. It was hard and hot and itched like crazy.

Thank God we don't have them here in the North Country.
However. we do have ground hornets which can really do a number on you as well.

Just wait their coming your way. Last I heard they were in OK City. I can remember 25 years when we didn’t have them in East Texas
