Thomas skid steer

I have a Thomas 1970 Skid steer. It is doing the work on our hunting property that I wanted it for. I do have three hydraulic cylinders that are leaking which I will address this winter. But my issue is the drive wheels on the left side. The right wheels work great. When I move the lever for the left side there is a lot of noise and little movement. If I try harder the engine immediately bogs down. Since I am new to skid steers I don’t know where to start. I have a parts manual and I am going to try to follow the diagrams so that I at least know where to look for a problem. Thank you for any feedback

They're still around in New Brunswick, well for parts and service at least, they're no longer made I don't think. Our tractor club has one and I remember our guys contacting them with a question and they were helpful. Here's a link to their website and contact info .... https://www.thomasloaders.com/index.asp

Photo below of ours, not sure what model it is.

"A lot of noise and little movement , engine immediately bogs down "

A couple possibilities:
1). Bearings out of idler sprocket and chain is loose and jumping teeth on drive sprocket.
2). Spline twisted off end of axle, sprocket floating loose in the case and the chain is balling up.

Thank you I will check those things out
