Looking at this tractor. Everything works good but the brakes are spongy. Any positive or negative things I should know about this model? Thanks

The looks of it are pretty well kept. There has been no "do not buy" issues related to that series, 7 years of production does say something for the Doncaster UK built tractor. If you like it and it works (fitting your budget) buy it. Jim

Does 7 years production mean it’s a good or bad thing?

Seven years of production is a good thing. It means it was a good tractor and popular and the company continued to build that same model for seven years.

The spindles are a bit light for carrying things that are heavy like big round bales for long distances like from barn down to field half mile to feed and buckets full of stone and such. Bouncing over rough ground with loads in thew bucket will do them in also. As for the brakes they probably need to be bled of air . IF you want to use the rear remotes at the same time as the loader is hooked up you want the loader to be run via a power beyond plate with it's own set of valves to use on it. Much less messy hose set up also. Other wise no big issues with them. We've had a 574 since new in the early 70's.
