Apparently this is the definition of a “ Threaded View” .

Could not reply to the notice that " threaded conversations" on ytmag will be a thing of the past. I wasn't sure of what exactly a " threaded conversation" is/was.

You may or may not have enabled threaded views, which was a feature of the old "classic" view and was still available (but not enabled by default) after YT was moved to the new software a few years back. YT got rid of threaded views last year.

To the right side near the Replies count, you should see a Pin icon (which means admin pinned a post to stay in a given location, usually at the top). Beside it you should also see a Padlock icon. Just like any other thread with a padlock on it, that means the thread cannot be replied to. That thread was pinned and locked the day jkane posted it, as information, on September 3, 2025.

As MarkB posted, the threaded view (formerly Classic) has been gone about 6 months now.
