Three point hitch hydraulics

Hi
You guys were so helpful on my earlier issues so here is another issues.
Back the the Farmall 656. Love this old machine.
Anyway, on the hydraulics for the three point hitch there are 2 levers. One raises and lowers the three point and I think it has some control over the front end loader if I push the lever all the way forward. Or it seems that way.
The other lever, the one on the right. What does that do? It has been broken off for years. Thinking about fixing it.
If I fix it will it help any when I am back blading or snowblowing.

The outer lever is "draft control" it assists in the adjustment of implement to tractor coupling angle (pitch). The action senses hitch forces and helps maintain drive wheel traction. The amount of this action is controlled by the lever, more is forward, less is rearward. Most often used effectively with moldboard plows. The loader should be valved off from hitch action so that one or the other operates, not interacting at all. Jim

The bracket in which the right hand lever is mounted, has the word "light" moulded into it and an arrow pointing to the rear meaning if you want the plow to just skip along the ground have it up....toward the rear. If you want to do some serious plowing, or if you want your 3 PT lift to work properly, push it all the way down!

Refer to the diagram in this link CNHI Farmall 656 parts diagram The front ends of the lower 3 point arms fasten one to shaft 4 and to part 8 which splines onto the left hand end of shaft 4. The anchor point are offset from the centerline of shaft 4, that shaft can turn in the housing but is held in a position by torsion shaft 6 and its anchor lever part 5. Due to the lower arms mounting off center on that shaft when the 3 point has a “pull” on it, then it will slightly twist the torsion shaft 6. Part 14 the lower sensing arm clamps to shaft 4 inside the rear axle housing. That arm sticks up and along with part 13 connect to the draft valve in the 3 point control valve under the seat. These are the parts that complete the action JAN described.
The 656 we had was an early model, on it the draft lever position made no difference in the operation of auxiliary hydraulic remotes. I think it may be that some how on later models the draft position has some effect on the operation of auxiliaries when placed in certain position.
FYI, if you happen to view this on a phone it may be difficult to tell that it gives you access to all the part diagrams for your tractor. To get to the main index click the “656 Farmall tractor.. to the right of the home icon. If you have other IH tractor clicking the “home” will allow you to enter the model number and search for the catalog for that tractors or equipment model.
