Three Point Hitch

So, I recently had a problem where I snapped the lift shaft on my 202 Industrial tractor. I never gave it much thought about how I had the hoe set up on the 3 points. Now I am concerned about doing it right, so looking for advice on how the controls for the draft should be set.
hook up the canter link. Once done I would leave the controls alone. the Draft. control I wouldn't touch and don't remember where it was.
The manual does not describe it too well for me.

thanks in advance.

I would say the draft control lever should be fully up it the quadrant, when not using draft equipment. Your backhoe is not a tractor drawn ground engaging implement (that would be a land plow for example) described in a MF operator's manual for use with draft control. Your backhoe is transported by the tractor, so position control lever would be used, as you only lift it to travel and set it down to work. 3-point backhoes are hard on the tractor and 3-point system. Even if you can, you shouldn't lift the rear of the tractor off the ground with a 3-point backhoe. It doesn't have a rigid frame mounted to the tractor, like an integrated industrial to take those type forces. Doing that will increase the likelihood of breaking something. Just my thoughts others may differ.

ok so here is what I have for a set up. Yes, the stabilizers will lift the rear off the ground. I agree that it is not the best set up. I hope to make a frame at some point for this.
I was looking in the manual it looks like the position for the draft control should be all the way down so that any movement of the upper upper link will not adjust the link arms automatically.
I hope I am explaining this correctly

Here is what the 135 manual shows/reads. I would have expected yours would be the same.

Jim I thought I also read in the 202 manual to put the hydralever (used for position control) and the draft control in the forward position.

I don't have a 202 Operator's Manual, so all I can suggest is to double check what is in your manual and go by what it says to do for position control. Basically, your tractor only lifts the hoe for transport.
