three point lift hydraulics

hi all again,
on a massey harris 50 the three point is slowly losing its height. have taken the top off three times so the adjustment is good. this happened before and i replaced the pump. wondering if i replacing the pressure relief valve would solve the problem.

I little more detail would help. Does it slowly drop with the tractor off or when it is shut off using the hydraulic control? Both are common, just leak down. When using the position control lever it should continually adjust and remain at the set height.

hi, i replace the piston and rings because it dropped down when i shut the tractor off and it still does that. now it doesn't raise the implement as high as it should when the tractor is running and this is getting worse. i don't think it is the finger adjustment inside the tractor as it has been done before.

Assuming you have adequate oil level, is sounds like the position control system on the inside needs adjusting. I have never had to do that. Maybe something was damaged removing and reinstalling the cover.

we had the cover a few times to do just that. adjust the control levers. i'm going to try replacing the pressure relief valve because the arms just started to slowly over time go lower and lower. we'll see.
