Hey guys I have the lift assembly off the 52 VAC I'm repainting and I took out the two 1/4 in. pipe plugs to drain it.When I put this back on the tractor do I fill that unit up to the top 1/4 in. plug or does the hydrolic system do it when I start her up again. If I do have to fill it first what do I put in it 80/90 or something else.Hope the explanation sounds right.

Dave..I have a VAC-14 with 3pt eagle hitch and gear driven hyd.pump on the front of engine and when I overhauled it from front to back(complete-restore) The original owner had found his original operators book when he bought the tractor new..And here is what it list as recommended oils and I will list them at 70deg. and up first and 70 to 32deg. next and 32to-20deg last and all is SAE OILS... Torque Tube=8qts of 90wt.for all temps... Transmission=7gal..90wt.all temps..I used 80/90..75/90 would be OK also....
Hydraulic Oil(Torque Tube)=8qts of 20wt/10wt/5wt..
A footnote at the bottom says additional oil will be required to fill the hydraulic system when remote or portable cylinder equipment is used in addition to the eagle hitch system..As for how much to fill..I would estimate how much you drained out but I don"t know if your pump runs off the engine or belt pulley area..That would clarify your question..
