If anyone's interested, I'm assembling a few videos of my McCormick thresher & thought I would share them. They're not going to be some flashy affair with dancing girls & whatnot. Just me putzing around & the tractor & thresher making noise. I'll keep it interesting with some text thrown in to explain a bit about what's going on.

Nice you took time to share. I own a 1948 case with rubber tires and have used it at our local show. Neat thing about mine is a former employer sold it new in 1948 and I am the 3rd owner.

Should have put all the belts on and give it a run and show the whole thing in action.

Dad had one like that but I late 1940 or early 1950s. Used it up until late 1960s.

There's more to come. I'm currently on the search for three of the smaller belts on the machine. The ones I had, busted & the used conveyor belt option leaves me with something too thick to make the twist in a short space. That & it just does not want to grip the small pulley & I don't want to cut them undersize & cause the bearing to heat.

Otherwise I will show what I have so far. Thinking of cutting in some internal views to explain what's going on. May steal some diagrams from the manual. Was going to add some footage of a working thresher from the thresheree, but the McCormick hasn't been used in a few years.

I'll post back, over the weekend with a new vid.

There's more to come. I'm currently on the search for three of the smaller belts on the machine. I like your video. Keep doing your thing. It’s a good way to keep the spiders and raccoon presents from building up. Junkshow recently acquired a 24” Belle City that was shedded but still needs a major cleaning to run correctly

Thanks for sharing. Brings back some memories. Dad and uncle owned a Case thresher in the 1940's - 1960's. I was only old enough to drive a tractor gathering bundles of mostly oats but I do remember them threshing some sudan grass one summer. At home we used a JD hammer mill powered with a JD model D tractor and I remember having to line it up and belt it up. I was probably 12-13 yrs old at the time. I can remember going with dad to the case dealer and bringing the new thresher home. It always seemed like such a massive machine.

I did eventually back into the belt more. Didn't find any video of that & the video was getting long enough. Might be able to put something in the new video.... which was supposed to be out over the weekend. I'm trying to get a chopper video done at the same time & things didn't go as planned with the rain.

I have been to the Baraboo show several times. Don't know if I'll get up there this year or not. Would like to get over to Dodge Counry & check out the big Case steamer too if there's time.

Nice sounding rig. If you need any parts, I have our 28" IH thresher sitting beside the barn. It was stored inside until a couple of years ago. We used it for all our grain right up until my grandfather died in 2004. I feel bad that it's sitting out and soon to be heading to the scrappers, but I already have a Goodison thresher in pristine condition in one of my father's sheds, and there's only so many threshing machines one guy needs (or so my fiance tells me).
