throttle control arm

are they cast iron or steel? i made an oosp when i replaced my steering wheel. the easiest/cheapest out for me is if i can bend that bad boy down a little.

on the plus side, i like to think there are hidden gems in most every disaster. in my case, i understand the funky wheel spokes now

Does OP mean the 9N/2N metal rod like on a Ferguson?

MORE info required. It helps to have the ESSENTIAL MANUALS and and able to ID parts and their numbers. No cast iron on steering parts other than the arms and housing. The first 9N had an aluminum steering box base. Which one do you have?

So what was your "oops"? Bend the throttle lever?

the oosp i made was buying a steering wheel that doesn't have the dished-in spokes, or however the manual describes them
this causes your thumb to hit the throttle control lever as you turn the wheel past it. now that i know it's not cast, my intent is to bend the lever down slightly, allowing it to be clear of the thumb.

I wouldn't try bending it in place.

i wondered about this. i thought about trying to support it decently in place, but i guess i'll ditch that and just remove it.

i hope the difficulty of the job didn't just go up by a factor of 10.

FHJ Remove the two bolts that holds the quadrant and remove it.Then take a short piece 1/2 water
pipe 12 inch long or so ,slide it over the lever bend it downward some a little at a time so it puts some pressure on the throttle arm so it stays in place.
