Throttle help on 135

I finally used my 135. Worked great but manual steering was hard to get used to. I have to keep moving the lever every few minutes to keep the rpm the same. Following the linkage I don’t see any thing that I can tighten up to fix this. Any advice?

It may need a new friction disc. If it works the link will take you to the MF 135m parts book. You should include gas or diesel as some things like the throttle linkage are different. One of your old post is about a 135 diesel. The diesel throttle linkage is on page 110 using the left side index.

First, spray the existing friction disk with brake cleaner, it might just be contaminated with oil and dust. You might have to loosen the 2 nuts with springs under them first-measure the length of showing threads first so you know the nut placement so you have an ideal of how much more to tighten the nuts. If this doesn't work then go spend money.
I'm not cheap, but of Irish descent.

Thank you for sharing this. I would like to order the washer but I can’t find out how to remove it. The handle is one piece and looks to not have a removable break in it to pull the washer out. The washer looks good. About 1/4 thick. I’ll try the break cleaner. Thank you

Sometimes the friction plate that is attached to the throttle lever comes loose (either weld breaks or spline, etc wears loose). I have welded the friction plate back to the shaft on a few 175's and it helped reduce the sloppy, drifting throttle a lot.
