throttle linkage

I lost throttle control mowing yesterday, no response from lever and went to idle. This piece must have broke and fell off in the field. I found a picture on google images of what broke but it seems like it might be a little tricky to find a replacement. I also noticed I don't have the compensating spring either, unless it flew off too. Anyway I checked on this site and a couple others I use and have not found replacement pieces yet. Does anyone have any ideas of where to look?

I need that lever/link the throttle rod snaps onto, and that smaller spring that goes to the bellhousing.

Look on ebay for someone parting out an 8N. Or put a foot throttle on it. I would look for the original part if it were me.

The piece I need is the lever that the ball/rod attaches too. The metal was very thin probably from rust or maybe battery acid corrosion before my time. I just had the governor off to reseal an oil leak which went together fine and throttle governor worked for a couple hours until this happened. Maybe I flexed this piece a little doing that, but like I said the metal was very thin, so it just snapped in two.

(quoted from post at 16:05:51 07/30/17) Try smith's oldfordtractors, I think I saw
one there for 10 dollars. good luck

That's it, perfect! Thanks for the help, I know I've been to that site before but forgot about it.

I disassembled an 8N last year, so I have one here somewhere.
The throttle rod and linkage were both right where I thought
they were, but that lever is not there with them.
I'll keep looking and see if I can find it.

As mentioned, you may want to check with John Smith too.
He doesn't always have all of his parts listed on his website
so you may want to contact him and ask.
I've bought quite a few parts from him. Great guy!

I put a foot throttle on my 8N. It's an exact copy of the Dowden foot throttle. It doesn't replace any part of the original hand throttle. It works in conjuction with the hand throttle. So he would still need to replace that missing part.
