throttle linkage

can anyone tell me where i might find the small 5" peice of linkage that goes from the trottle at the stering wheel to the long rod under the dash? thanks robert

Are you talking about that 1/4" X 3-1/16" rod that has the a ball joint on each end, just find a 1/4" rod and put threads on each end. If you need the ball joints go to a good auto supply store they should have them.

You can also make one out of a flat strip if you get stuck, make two pins that will screw into the lever and the round disc on the Long throttle rod to the front of the engine, you could use 2 bolts (drilled to accept a pin) if you are stuck. The awkward part is getting the twist in the throttle link correct. This replaced the one with the ball end which was more expensive as you can imagine...I have drawings of this link should you need it:- [email protected]

this works great, the only thing i done different is instead of pins i used 1/4 20 bolt and a nylon lock nut ,this helps stiffen the throttle so it stays at rpms you want. i had replaced the friction disc but my throttle still would not stay put till i tried this. thanks john for you help. robert

Really glad to hear that it works good for you. The last TE20 series tractors had this fitted on production and we always felt it was an improvement although it did not look as good, but as it was tucked away under the Dash no-one would see it anyway. You replaced the friction disc, have you reset the Engine governor linkage since then, if you need the info to do that, email me ....John
