Throttle shaft on SM

The throttle shaft between my governor and carb on my SM doesn't really turn easy. I took it off and tried cleaning it with PB blaster but I'd like to disassemble it completely. How do I get the shaft out of the housing? It looks like the end that connects to the vertical rod is pressed on.

There is a pin through the brass lever at the front of the throttle shaft. Best to remove the assembly and place on
something solid like a vise with about a quarter inch gap between the jaws. Try a 3/32" punch to drive it out. You should
be able to reassemble with a new 3/32" spring pin. I'm guessing you'll find some dirt and rust inside the tube. Bob

Thanks for the reply.
I've been trying to figure out how the governor hasn't been able to respond to power needs for quite a while. Everything in the governor looks good. Looks like I found the problem.
