John Deere supplied a number of tractors to England during WW2 and they were mainly used in the potato and vegetable growing areas in Lincolnshire. They built up a good reputation for ease of use with their row crop design and the three wheel configuration was later sold as a fitting for other makes by Roadless Traction and Bettinson of Holbeach, when John Deeres were no longer brought in due to import restrictions after war finished. Quite a few of these tractors were still in use as late as the 1980's in this area.
