What part of Kansas do you claim has no trophy deer? The part of the state I grew up in inside the north border straight South of Lincoln NE has some. Roughly the eastern 1/3 of the state has hilly terrain, trees and the majority of the areas have crop land. That area has a fair population of Whitetail deer. Sorry if I bombed your joke.

We are installing mini splits
Basically an unit in each room if you're not familiar with them

That was my first thought. We like them, I installed one on out tiny house. My apartments in Japan always had them.

Gotta admire the craftsmanship that built that the 1st time & the care to rebuild it the 2nd time. All new pegs to hold it all together. House I grew up in had the same construction in the main part of it.

You are right. Some of my jokes are bombs to start with. I'm not quite ready for prime time on the Tonight Show but I try anyway. We need some Armadillo hunters now. Maybe a bounty on them would help.

Land prices are way up for any ground with habitat for hunting. Lots of hunting leases. Been thinking about digging more ponds in the pasture so our place could be subdivided into 40 acre plots with part crop ground, part pasture with pond and home locations hidden from the roads near the fishing ponds, and a section of creek bottom with plenty of deer habitat with 10 pointers or higher going by. Creek bottom would be within workable rifle range from the back deck of a house overlooking the creek.

Looks kind of like my old post and beam barn built in 1902 but it was just 4 8' bents x 24' wide. Now just 3 as I didn't need it that big and wanted extra material to replace bad wood. Took out 1/2 the loft floor that was left and made an apartment upstairs 12'x24'. I poured a new 3' high stem wall and set it down on that as a lot of posts and siding were rotted off. Loft was only 6' floor to eave, back bathroom and kitchen walls now. Used the old loft floor for interior trim, cabinets, counter tops and built-ins. One nice beam made a mantle. 12'x24' wood shop under apartment. 12'x24' 2 story garage downstairs with 4 post lift for upper floor-less showroom for my '67 Z/28 Camaro or C/28 '67 pickup....James

My goodness that is nice. I've never hunted a day in my life but seeing this I might have to take up hunting.
