I have a 2n and did a bunch of new upgrades to it but it always never ran right and ive been threw everything on at a last desperation i advanced the timing and now it runs like new funny how that something so simple was my problem go figure

I am curios, Most are set in the middle or 1/4 away from hole. How far did you advance it,from the middle?

My '49 8N runs good I think, but will puff intermediatly, like it will drop one below 1500 rpm irregluarly??

i loosened nut and pushed it up bout half way between center and the end of hole just make sure it shuts off even and restarts even so you know you didnt go too far

ushing screw UP, retards timing. :(

Rather than just randomly moving plate & hoping it works, why not adjust it correctly? The I&T FO4 manual has the info. If you don't have one or it doesn't make sense, plenty of folks around here can help you w/ it.
