Timing Light - Ford Jubilee

I need a timing light.....

Found good prices on EBay but most state that they for 12 volt engines.

Would they still work on 6 Volt tractors?

ure, you just power it off your 12v pick up & connect the sensor to the 6v tractor & flash to hearts content!

Thanks, I didn't want to use my 12V truck, preferr using my 6V battery.

Mine works good off of 6 volts.

If designed for 12V the strobe will be dim when operated on 6V. Depending upon design it may not flash at all.

I operate mine from a spare 12V battery placed beside the tractor.

In that case, you will need a timing light designed for operation from 6V unless you want to time your engine in near darkness.

Its a hit and miss deal with modern T-lites,,, I have the best T-lite money can buy (snap-on over $400) it does not like tractors,,,, to much electrical interference...

I use a OLD school Sun 6/12v you install a adapter tween the plug and wire...

$3 Crapsman from a yard sale about 10 years ago.
It looks like it was sent in to Chicago for repair at one time.
As others have suggested, it's easier to use a 12V battery than find a timing light for 6V.

like the other posters, I have a 40 year old one
that works on most everything.
been dropped, melted, cord taped up, switch
wired to stay on always when it failed.
keeps on workin

also have an inductive one that has its own batteries.
was handy at the strip for a quick check.
like said, tractors ignition noise makes it erratic sometimes
