Timing Mark on Crank

Where's the timing mark supposed to be on an A crank gear? I can't find where mine is for some reason.

WIth the crank in "tractor position", put the #1 throw straight down. The timing mark on the gear should be straight up.

The timing mark is on the inside of the gear toward the crank throw.

Sorry, as if it was in the tractor. So horizontal...
