My 1010RS needs rear tires. The dry rot finally got the best of them. Local tire dealer has 8 ply BKT tr-135 tires or Carlisle 6 ply tires. The Carlisle tire weighs more, has a lower load rating, and actually costs more. Currently the tractor has 4 ply tires so either tire is an upgrade. I don’t think I need 8 ply on a 1010 but it seems like a better choice. I already have new BKT’s on the front and they have worn very well. Limited paved road use, tire chains in the winter if needed snowblowing, cultivating, plowing and discing are the primary use. Any thoughts?
