Tire Requirements

Getting ready to buy new rears and was wondering if 13.9's on an H would ever have problems pulling in farm stock? Would they be considered too big and not a factory option? Bought tractor with what I believe are 14" rims.

Well, I thought so. But there is a chart at the NATPA site that tells you what size tires can be used in each division. It says Div I tires must be no larger than 130 sq. inches. 11.2 x 38 are 120 sq inches. 12.4 x 38 are 140 sq. inches.

I've never pulled yet, and I'll need more input from those who have, (Maybe ChadS will take me under his wing). But that's how I read it.
NATPA Div. I Rules

In the 3501-4500 class where I presume you would pull your H, you can have 12.4-38's at 140 sq. inches which is under the maximum allowed 145 sq. inches.

That looks to be the max if you plan to pull solely in Div I with the NAPTA.

Of course it depends on the rules of the other pulling organizations in your area, but around here, everyone allows a max of 15.5's in similar classes.

In a perfect world, you could have 2 or more sets of tires for numerous classes/rules, but I would probably just buy 15.5's and just bump up to Div 3 with the NATPA. But I also don't pull with them anymore.

Thanks, that helps.

I actually have 15.5's on now, but they're junk. GUess I should check around with local org's to see what they're doing.
