Tire/wheel width?

I want to try a shorter tire on my tractor. I got a free pair of 14" wide wheels. Would 15.5's be alright on that wheel for pulling or would a wider wheel be better?

The 14 rim is what 15.5s are usually mounted on for farming,
but for pulling i like 15 or a 16 inch rim. Flattens the tire out a
little. Some guys will say not to run the wider rims, but they
have always done me good. With that being said, if you have
14's for free... I don't see why you couldn't give them a try.

they give you a limit on hitch height for a reason, why do you want to give that away? Squish is only good for a "clean burn " next to the cylinder wall for a more powerful combustion in the engine !!!!!!!!!LOL I have never favored low tire pressure, maybe on a very soft track with not much power.Any rim width works, pressure is a huge factor,as is weighting the tractor correctly for the conditions.

Use the 14" wheels and get the air pressure set right and they will work fine. I had 15.5"s on 14" wheels and they would have been fine if they had a little more lug in the center. Turned out they were too far gone.
