Are these tires nearly the same. Case 1294 tractor

They will work but youll have to replace both

Why would he have to replace both because one is orange the other yellow? I guess that would be reason enough for me. They are the same size and both are bias so just the lug wear would be a bit different.

. Thanks. I plan to replace both. Im just puzzled by the 14 in the old tire. Gonna go look at the newer ones tomorrow. Wheels are different lugs

I couldnt see the 16.9 on the old tire . The 14 may be the old
tire size that the 16.9 replaces

I think the 14 references the old size, which was also the rim width??

The 14 is the rim width for the 16.9 dimension to be accurate. I have R-1 13.6 x 28s on my Ford 2000 and 3000, Kelly-Springfield
Power Mark 2000s and on the sidewall it states on a 12 rim. I've seen the wheel notation added to other tires sidewall
dimensioning as is shown herein.

It's the pre-1955 size. Here is a chart that shows the conversions:

That's an OLD tire to be on a Case 1294, built in the 80's.
