I am planning on putting new front/back tires on my 1964 4020 diesel. It currently has 7.50 x 16 on front and 15.5 x 38 on back. I am definitely going to put 16.9 x 38 on the back but debating whether I should use 9:00 x 16 or 10:00 x 16 on the front. I want the tractor to sit as near level as possible but I don't want the rear of the tractor to be lower than the front. What are other folks with 16.9 x 38 on the back running on the front? Thanks!

I would think 10.00 x 16 would work well.

What about rims? 16.9 should be on a 15 inch rim. 15.5 is probably on 14 inch rim. The 16.9 will raise the rear substantially, especially on a narrow rim, as the 15.5 is such a low profile tire. Don't know about the fronts.

I agree with Bob, depending on the sizes you decide on, you are looking at new rims as well as tires, if you plan to do this properly. 16.9 -38 recommended rim is 15 inches wide as Bob posted. The 9.00 or 10.00 use an 8-inch-wide rim, your 7.50 - 16s use 5.5 inch wide rims.
