i would like to know if a 14.6-28 turf tire is to big for a 50' 8n

My experience on 2N they are two big in diameter and not enough horses in motor to plow. Had torun low gear all the time in clay. Worked okay with chains for traction and snowplowing. Got field tires 12.6 X 28 and am a lot happier. 600 has even smaller width and with HP + and even happier.

For most purposes, yes.

That said, if you space the wheels out enough the tires will not hit the fenders and you could use your tractor for turf related work.

Be advised, however, that the ground speed will be increased noticeably, which will require more HP when mowing.

For most things the biggest you even want to go is 12.4X28s because the bigger you go the large the diameter of the tire is and the N series goes to fast in all the gears as it is so the bigger you go the fast you go and that in turn causes other problems
