New points, plugs, condenser, dist. cap, plug wires, rotor, re-built carb, clean air cleaner, temp gauge and sending unit. Long day. Still belches back through the carb ( air screw 7/8 turn out, main jet 11/4 turn out. As I was warming up to set idle and main jet screw....the fan belt broke, small town every thing closed on Sun.
Did a compression test before the above, warmed the engine ( had to hold the choke half way out to keep her running) but by the time I got to the test it was an hour later...#1= 145, #2=145, #3=140, #4=145. Is that to high? Is it high because of cold test? Throtle and air filter both wide open.
Tried to replace exhaust manifold gasket, someone also tried because the 2 middle nuts had rounded corners. Is there a better way of getting them off than useing a rotory cutter (dremel tool) to cut them off? Only enough room for an open end wrench. It does have a pretty good exahust leak at the back of the mainfold.
Sorry for the long post, like I said it was a long day.
Thanks for any info you can provide.
