I ended up buying a new one from jensales. I have had the original apart several times, soaked it and ran cleaning tips through it but it won't even start the tractor. The Chinese one is starting it.

I'm hoping the one I ordered will be usa?????

Good points that Ericp351 has made. Do you still have the original carburetor? Better off rebuilding that one.

These are very simple- Fix what you have when possible. If stuck with the "repo" only- take it apart and police inlet needle/ floats. Better-restore orig. Do not assume the 13 year old Chinia girl that put some repos toghter even pre set the jet OK.

Small tip-suggestion. At least verify good fuel flow to carb (drain to a coffee can- no plastic) as you await carb #3. I'd use new carb (#2) as a kit for orig. Glass = OK, but plastic cans are for sissies! Remember- the orig. has/had an inlet screen.....

Ok I got the ignition parts in and installed. In the meantime I have had the old carb soaking. I put it all back together awhile ago and it fired up and idles pretty decent. When I get back from town I will adjust the timing a little more.

It still has a slight roughness to it. I hope it will clean up with the final adjustments.

Eric what do you mean by police inlet?

Police = Check out, Scrutinize. Inlet = Fuel inlet, has a screen (OEM. Chinia carb.= who knows)

I’m just cruising through some of the forums I travel through less often. All I would add or emphasize is are you sure your firing order is correct and followed in Mad cow’s number 2 reply. Some guys just aren’t to good at knowing what a tractor sounds like whether it is hitting on all the cylinders or not. Number one should be good but then make sure the rest are in order.
