To-35 neutral safety switch bypasses

Hello.
Been lurking for awhile now have reason to post as i do some work on a new to me TO-35.

The neutral safety switch has been bypassed. On top of the solenoid is the red batt contact and some other wires goin back to ammeter and key switch. On the side of solenoid is a single black wire that goes back into the wire harness suppose to the key switch? Am I correct think this is the wire that would have normally gone to the safety switch?

Just a quick note, get a new interlock switch (yesterday's tractors one is inexpensive) so you're not fiddling with a problem. Rewire the circuit with new wire and I got the wire connectors that plug into the switch from Napa. I had to make new spring locks from wire I had around. Easy and reliable repair.

Get a tube of dielectric grease for these and other contacts.
